Some people think you cannot build this type of design on Veroboard, but they are wrong. It is certainly a lot easier and less expensive to use for the initial prototype, or for this type of modular approach. Of course, a real PCB is more desirable for any sort of volume production, and results in a better finished more professional product.
Did you know there is even a dedicated CAD product for laying out circuits on Veroboard?

      Thank you.

I have one called Sprizin or the like someplace in the bit bucket for Proto Boards.

I had to check the site to see what they are. Radio Shack sells a variety of boards and also Jameco has a good selection even one specific for PIC controllers.

Yes edge connectors and IC sockets and header pins
will try and take some pictures

You need good PCB for the heavy current parts of the cct ie; fet and coil
You use the vero board as the "mother board"
you solder female sockets on mother board
you make small daughter boards with header pins from vero board
and plug in the daughter boards

              Aluminum Module Plug-Ins

              Hello Turtlebowl and Everyone .

Nice work on this idea Turtlebowl .

It would be nice to use "Plug-In Type" small shielded die cast aluminum [pcb] encosure's that are weatherproof , which you can carry in your pocket . Switch from Gold seeking module to Relic Module or Old Coin module . But with posibly using a strong coaxial or [twist type bnc] plug type connector . To me plugging in a circuit board at 90 degrees to another circuit board multiple times may not last too long . Also pressing components on a circuit board with your dirty fingers or gloves may not be safe . Little modules may be the way to go .

Years ago we used RF plug-in modules , aluminum [ higher frequency of course] for service work in the field ,CATV-MATV , Bridger and Line extender amplifier modules .

This housing concept can also be used for the 1-100 khz range . Swap out the modules quick and easy . Picture 1 and 2 were example's from discovery Gold Trax ?

              Regards..............Eugene
