Hammerhead modded vs sd2000 series

Hello might sound a strange question but I am looking at detecting a well worn gold site in South Australia,and interstate also.
I have seen posts by King jl and others that look very good,with the Hammerhead modded.
The area I am looking at is very mineralised.
Does the Hammerhead with or without mods cope with mineralisation?
Iam mainly looking for small speckies.

HH1 would require extensive mods to add GB. HH2 would be easier as it could be done in software. However, neither design is well-suited for this task.

Yes I was referring to HH2 with variable delay mod and fast coil etc, as per Altra or Kingjl.
I have the pcb for it.
Could you write new software to achieve GB?
I use a whites eagle spectrum (6.59khz) and Iam aware it is not a gold machine,maybe a smaller DD coil would help?

John, to cope with mineralisation, you need two RX coils placed in TWIN LOOP configuration. You should build DOD search head instead DD. This is valid for both type (pulse induction and sine induction) machines. The DOD configuration can suppress the AIR&GND signal in input of preamp. Then you can increase its gain near to saturation of output. Using DOD, the Eagle Spectrum will operate as an excellent prospecting machine with target VDI, if you can adjust resonance frequencies of TX and RX tank circuits to their original values.
Prospecting with DOD needs practice because each target generates a succession of positive and negative pulse and the zero between them is used for pinpointing.

Hello Mikebg,I noticed in another post that the eagle spectrum coil has some passive components in the search head.
Would I have to add these in on the DOD coil?
Also what function is "M".
I do not not know what inductancies the Tx and Rx coils are.
Any help would be appreciated.

John, yes, you should add capacitances iside search head. As shown below, the capacitor C6 for RX tank circuit is placed in control box. C1, C2 and C3 are MKP type.
M is a ferrite core (or a small nail) placed excentric inside the red knob. The operator can adjust fine induction balance by rotating the red knob.

A day after Bulgarian Economy Minister Traycho Traykov announced open one billion cubic meters of natural gas in the field "Devintsi" line from his office today reported two deposits of gold and silver found in Bulgaria near Trun and Rakitovo.
Geological reserves are estimated at over one hundred tons of gold and silver, the same amount, told Radio Ivaylo Iliev Department of Permits in the economic department. He said Rakitovo deposits are from 7 tons of gold and 100 tonnes of silver. In Trun geological discovery was registered as total quantity of gold is about 100 tons.
Both companies are subsidiaries of the Canadian company said Iliev. Companies have already received from the economic ministry extension of contract by one year and will again perform studies of geological discovery. The aim is both open to become a commercial and positive results should yield concession.

Bad news from Plovdiv BG

Criminal group, dealing with treasure-hunter activity is broken down in the special police operation in Plovdiv on 13th and 14th December, police reported.

The police stated that the activities of members of the group was seen for a long time. After having collected enough information carried by six men illegal excavations in Plovdiv and Stara Zagora, they were arrested on Wednesday evening.
In search of their homes in Plovdiv and Popovitsa found a total of 155 coin slabs, 29 metallic elements with different shapes and images, 12 coins, two rings and two medallion.
Were seized six metal detectors, headphones and chargers, two laptops, two desktops and seven mobile phones.
On December 13th at the time of the transaction with antiques in Plovdiv have arrested three more people.
The experts to evaluate seized findings. Materials have been reported in the County Prosecutor's Office - Plovdiv.
