below a little selection of micro stuff - each square is 5mm - I found with the Blisstool.
Its no problem to detect such things with a usual detector that uses a 4-6'' (10-15cm) coil and if those are close to the surface,
but its tough to catch them with a 12'' coil and at a highly infested e-smog area and up to 7cm deep.
Well ... I wouldn't be very happy if this was the result after a hard day's metal detecting.
Did you have discrimination turned off?
sorry for the delayed answer, haven't had time to check the forum for a while
Thanks for your interest, Qiaozhi - well, that special area is so "clean" because of my 4 years hunt there already that I must detect at all-metal.
But I'm also looking for very deep roman iron parts, so it's no problem and in principle most of the time I searched there in all-metal anyway.
I'm lucky in that case anyway because meanwhile I have a real good sorted collection of very rare nails of all types, so micro-nails are a highlight.
Qiaozhi, you know the detector I'm using is still the old 2010 version - the new version 3 might be even better, but for the real small stuff (10mm and below)
the small coil offers really a better job, you know this, too.
The disc was set to ground 8 which is around "usual GEB minus 5", so even a smallest part of a rusty can is detectable!
I could tell you terrible storys of 20cm long pieces of totally rusted winded 5mm thick "steel-wires" which split up in micro-parts and I detected each single part of it.
But I could detect directy under huge overland highvoltage lines at roman tracks down to 15cm special roman parts lying directly over the stone-road.
Well, in my case I used almost 20 years ago the very similar working Fisher 1266-X (I still have in working shape) so the "crazy beeps" are used to my ears.
But I have moded even this detector in earlier times (2010) to be more adjustable to high e-smog situations, it takes some time to be able to ignore
the static noise the detector creates and concentrate to the slightly changed better values of the audio-output, even by scrubbing direclty over the grass etc.
Besides the Jeohunter and the new improved DeepHunter with the Blisstool LTC64 v3 incl. "medium large" 35cm coil everyone with a trained ear really will be
able to detect the most deepest stuff (incl. cavity or mineralic stones) even under high e-smog or mineralic situations for a very good price-value price.
Its almost comparable with my manual turnable screw modded Garrett Pro-Pointer - the potential for critical-border-sensitivity is extremly high for skilled persons -
up to 50-100% plus (= 50-100% more depth).
Yesterday I found with the Blisstool LTC 64 some very rare cannonball with the 28cm coil at 50cm depth!
btw. 200 meters up on the mountains! You won't believe such finds until you made them yourselves.
btw. this is the still super working old model from 2010 I'm using, the newer Blisstools are even more depth improved!
But the main thing I wanna tell here is about meteorites, because that region where I was hunting also is
full of rare rocks transported by the glacier at iceage times - and of course - I found 2 of those rare boulders
with the Blisstool, too. Highly mineralized stones that are seldom at that region.
The important stuff is that the Blisstool not just is very sensitive for deep finds but that it's afaik
the only detector at all at a price level of ca. 500-600 Euros that finds meteorites !!!
So the Blisstool has a higher range of finding precious and rare objects than most other detectors!
It's really a shame that almost all other detectors filters special materials out so consequently!
And this is just because of the tribute to all those stupid wannabe treasure-hunters who want
it completly simple and easy! Money reigns the world and therefore the stupid masses, too!
So I have to have some motivation to push or speak for such special power detectors like
also the Blisstool is because they offer abilities others don't!
And we also don't wanna have cencorship in a free world, so why all those commercial detectors
are "cencoring" the finds?! Are they stupid or are most treasure-hunters like childs who just are
able to handle the most simple tools like kids in their sand-boxes with their plastic shovels?!
This can't be !!! Treasure-Hunters are most of the time strong-minded pro's who have the full
right to get devices which offers the most possible features !!!! Not crippled ones!
If you wanna find ultra rare gemstones, meteorites or even cavity the Blisstool simply is
the best choice for its price and something like the only chance at all!
Do you wanna find meteorites with a Garrett or Fisher, with a Minelab or Tesoro? Forget it !!!
If you don't wanna have a cencored treasure-hunt either get a non-motion detector like the
Makro DeepHunter or Nokta Golden King or take the allround Blisstool!
And this is nothing just only for profis:
The Blisstool gives a soft double-beep (depending on how far the ground balance was set)
if you have found a meteorite, cavity or special mineralized rock. That's all and already
the very famous and well known Fisher 1266-X used the similar circuit technology!
btw. cencorship-detectors are the same worth-reduced as modern crippled software just because
those touch-screen smart-phone girlies want everything as easy to handle and simple as possible!
Either you work with professional tech or you have to pay the high price for "comforty behaviour",
even if that stuff is super cheap available because every child can play with it!
And this here is a tech-forum that also stands for improvement and innovation and NOT for degeneration!
btw. if you look at the picture I melted some little plastic protector close to the region of the on-off button.
This is better that way so it can't turn to on by hiting or touching this button by coincidential occasion.
The one-off button should be positioned somewhere else than at the corner for better protection.
Good luck with the Blisstool, it really has it's special value.
Here some special high mineralic stones stuff the Blisstool has found - some buried 30cm below.
I have transported 100kg of them home - glacier iceage stuff from 100km away and very rare here.
i had the v2 then later the v3.. i soon sold the v3 and kept the v2 for a good while
i found the v2 like Fishers 1265X and v3 with boosted gain like the 1266X.. making them better for depth on high conductive targets
but worse for finding low conductive hammered coins here in england when running at the equivalent disc level as the older versions
with the blisstools the gain and ground controls also affect the disc levels and can have drastic effects on hammered coin in ground depths.. disc depth control is crucial also - too little you have no disc, too much you find no treasure
some of these are controls that were factory set trimmers inside the Fishers.. these as user controls on the Blisstool i feel you really need to understand how each of these controls effect the overall performance especially on low conductors
this takes lots of in ground testing to find the right disc level you can run and is complicated by some controls affecting other levels..
great machines when set up correctly deeper than the Fishers i understand theyre based on.. but terrible machines if theyre not!
my advice for finding hammys is keep the gain low and the ground balance setting is crucial ..best at a positive offset.. that is set to reject a piece of ferrite.. none of the auto positions do this from what i remember and can drive you nuts digging every flake of rust regardless of your disc settings..
last word of advice is beware of the volume control if using headphones.. go over 3 and you risk blowing your eardrums!
> pics of the LTC64X board?
Yes, pics. Didn't I have posted already some at my external Blisstool LiPo-Accu-Pack Mod thread?
Where ist this thread, anyway?
@ Math
Of course you have to dig any rusty little 10mm steel piece. Could be Celtic! *laugh*
The Blisstool is fantastic but its a motion IB which makes it E-smog sensitive
and the detection signals are going into both directions. Double beep for mineralized stones and meteorites.
You even can find "rusted earth" with it or slag from antique forges.
But it really depends on the soil and how good is the contrast-factor.
haha yes i think ive plenty of Celtic rust already
youre right.. go over that ferrite position on the ground control and those hotrocks and meteorites start double beeping at you!
..my Silver Sabre does the same though.. whats the E smog and how does a non motion machine beat that? ..from guessing
i think the Lobos one of the best that way.. DFX on 2filters and fast sweep also.. if i were to choose the best machine ive used around the frequency of the Blisstool taking both depth and discrimination into account it would be the XLT.. super deep and stable AM non motion mode with visual id to the limit of disc motion depth.. then you can run it in mixed mode no visual needed.. sweep slow for AM mode then whip the sweep up to bring in disc motion mode.. brilliant!
The newest Blisstool "The Beast" is even more improved and tuned and if I wouldn't have already so much
great working MDs, I would get it directly. But it needs some better vibration mod first - perfectly adjusted
to the "complicated" audio output.
But I liked this chitt-chatter too, compared with the digital Garrett beeps, because with a good training
you really can hear the deepest finds within them if you turn up the "boost" high enough.
Mat, to tell some of the best detector related electronics Engineers in the world they don't know what they are talking about made me laugh, a LOT!
I've read a LOT about the Blisstool and YES, it's a good machine, but a good PI would wipe the floor with it for depth, and IF the Pulse Devil Ever makes it to market, I guarantee it will make ALL other detectors obsolete. I've used one and seen it working "in the wild", the depth is just insane in fact the model I used was depth RESTRICTED.
Sadly, Dave Emery has had a LOT of very serious health problems and is also obsessed with creating the ultimate machine, rather than getting SOMETHING on the market and then releasing new models based on the income from the earlier ones. Based on that, I don't think the PD will EVER be on sale.
Don't bother replying to me I'm out for another year so I won't read your post.
Sean.. ive given my views on a machine ive owned and used for around 5 years
i sold my Blisstool v2i earlier this year together with the original manual
the chap who bought it experienced all sorts of troubles setting it up and getting used to it
as i also did.. which is the reason for my post on this thread - Blisstool ltc64x v2i
i dont recall ever telling anyone on this forum they dont know what theyre talking about..
ive checked back and unsure whether youre referring to me or MattR in this thread??
Do Company Engineers have control over Marketing Department? I think not. There are spurious claims made all the time, and it's not limited to just Metal detectors, that goes for all products. Its not the engineer's fault.
The proof as to how good a product is, comes down to the end user's opinion. It's the customer's opinion that counts, not the engineer.
Famously was the claim of "seeing through iron". Not exactly an accurate description of a detectors seperation af targets ability and recovery speed. I doubt you could find an engineer who would make such claims. Detecting a coin under a nail is not "seeing through iron", strictly speaking. Try detecting a coin under a piece of sheet metal!!!
