    • Hi Everyone,

I'm building a TGSL and I plan on adding one of the VDIs in this thread. I like the idea of seeing what type of metal/object, I was thinking of editing the code a bit so that when you go over something like iron or gold that it'll display the words for it as well.

Does anybody have a list of ID/Phase/VDI numbers ranges that are produced when using TGSL for different metals/objects?

      Thanks!

          • Hello

I'm still working on this project because it's quite complicated and some things do not want to work the right files will be available soon on Github.

              • Hello friends

Here are the complete files for the ESP32 Metal Detector. It's just the first version so some features still do not work properly. I would love to find someone who would also start working on refining the detector and helping to improve it.

                    • Do you have a picture file ?, not everybody is going to have Eagle8 program.

                      • Maybe a PDF would be good.

You can also download free version of eagle from Autodesk which will be fine for viewing.

                        Cheers

                        • Hey Everyone,

I decided to build the VDI that Daren has made, I like the extra options that it offers. However I'm not quite sure what the MCP602 is supposed do. For the MD_V13 there is an included read me file that doesn't mention that the MCP602 is required, but the included schematic shows the MCP602 in there.

                          Daren mentions MCP602 in post #69 http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...684#post193684

I use LM358 single-side powered with 0 and 5V. It swings 0-4 on output. Circuit is like the one for IDX-VDI minus balancing resistors (R9, RT2 i think).
                          Seems to work fine.
Arduino Mini Pro 16MHz, 5V with LCD (dimmed with 1K) and opamp takes 12V/25mA. Arduino is powered using TGSL's 12V and it suppliers 5V for the opamp (mini has a 5v regulator). I'll swap in MCP602 when it comes from china; it should have 0-5V output swing.
I ordered a few MCP602's because I want to build the VDI correctly but, What specifically does MCP602 do in his VDI?

                          Thanks!

Because Arduino can read 0-5V and input is -6 up to 8V?

Also batery reading is voltage divider to rescale 0- >12V to 0-5V.
