The VDI looks nice! The Method of making a coilhousing is good too;-)

              • hello Prospekteur, do you think we can do this vdi togehter, maybe in a new thread? i started to design a pcb that fits direct behind the lcd Display

                  Nice project. Details here http://techniekendier.nl/metaaldetector_eng.php

Regarding connection to the R and X points in the TGSL board the author refers the reader to this forum but I couldn't find anything.

Can anyone tell me whether my guess in the schematic below is correct?

I did this project a long time ago, but it did not work very well. The VDI numbering is erratic. I will publish my design here according to the source code. The original design that was published by the author, does not work, because it is not compliant with the source code. I had to research and redo the entire design to make the VDI work.
                    Enjoy.

                    • I dont know.....but the old Tgsl-VDI-project here in the Forum works well for me and isnt erratic;-)

bernte_one: Nice to hear from you....i wasnt too much in this forum the last time. I want to build this VDI with you.....but it will take a bit of time, because i havent too much free time in the next weeks. I dont know if i can really help you but im really interested in building this VDI;-). Eventually more people from this forum build this VDI with us???!!!! Lets do it!

                              • Mega2560 is really over kill for just the VDI. Remember Battery requirements would be quite higher then the little Nano and OLED. The little Nano will do the job and more. A little OLED would look snappy on a detector too. Enough Room on the screen for VDI, Battery Status and More. https://www.banggood.com/0_96-Inch-W...-p-932606.html
