Just an opinion..
I did wind a pair of 15" coils just to test. For coin size objects it's really reaching the point of diminishing returns. Better coverage but not much improvement in detecton distance.
Problem is going to be finding a 16" shell and making it stiff enough that it does not flex when swinging it... and making it light enough to be practical.
I have gone the other way. I now prefer 9"DD coils for most all my projects.
