I need help with a Whites Classic II Sl modification..

Hi everyone at Geotech ~ I have a Whites Classic II SL I'd like to mod with a ground balance pot and a Threshold pot and any other inside the box mods to tweak this detector. So I was hoping that someone out there can help me out and basically guide me through this. I'm not trying to rip off Mr. Bill and I'd send it to him but I'm cash poor and parts rich and been out of work for a few years so I have to rely on my ability's and the help from someone here. So if anyone can help me out I'd appreciate anything you can do for me. If you have any instructions that can help me you can send them to me at < [email protected] > and put "Whites Mod" in the subject line. I've looked through the Mod's section here and have a idea on what I need to do but I still need some help here, so please any help is better than none at all.

My Budget ?

Well it's close to zero at the moment. If I had ready cash I wouldn't have said what I did in the post. Put it like this, I haven't worked in three years and lived off my life savings 100% since and now that 100% is less than 1% but I have a lot of personal items I plan on auctioning off in the next month or so and hopefully I can make enough to find other items to resell. I know about that special group and their plans to get rid of most of the worlds population and when or if that time comes I have nowhere to hide so I'll either die from a plague of go down fighting.
I plan to do this mod myself even though it would have been nice to have someone who knows how to guide me or even do it for me but all I could afford is a kind word and parts and shipping. And shipping is almost to expensive unless there's a profit somewhere for someone and right now there isn't. In fact I have to sell or have sold all of my detecting equipment and now I'm left with one entry level machine and this Whites to mod. It weird but I have to live with it like many others. I went from top of the line to the back of the line... so if you were asking what I can afford now I really don't know but I can say that when I make a turn around financially I would return the favor. I modded my Classic SL ID . It gave around another 1"-1.5" on a quarter in air and shows Marked improvement in the field. Change R7 from 100ohm to 51ohm. Change R24 from 470k to 1meg ohm. Then install a 50K potentiometer for Ground balance.

What Wattage ?

You guys are great with all the information you've provided. Now I'd like to know this. If I have to change the R7 from 100 ohm to 51 ohm and the R24 from 470K to 1 meg what wattage do I need ? I have the GB and Threshold pots ready to install so now I just need to know the resistor wattage's.. Thanks for providing the info..Geotech ROCKS! Woodstock

hello, i am moding my whites classic sl and i need to know when i install the pots for the ground balance, and the threshold. what ohm do i need. i know for the ground balance its a 50k pot, and i know for the threshold is a 100k pot, but i dont know what ohm to get. thank you for your help. - Not demand watt. *** Potentiometer will comply with its request in the same shape and size because it is associated the installation to maintain the general shape of the device.

R25 no,Then install a 50K potentiometer for Ground balance.
