  • MD 3006 lower sensity

    Dear all,

I need help the type of detector MD 3006.

Sensitivity of a new era are not an brilliant , but this level is further decreased.
Replaced batteries, discrimination level knob is set to zero, sensitivity control ca. 80%, hour (a-meter) is the center position, etc.

The search head has only the central part of the response to metals, but also from very short distance (measured in air): 1 euro cent (1 EUR) approx 1 cm, 3-4cm 1EUR, and this distance is not increased in any setting.

Approximately 10cm long and 1 mm aluminum wire does not respond, while earlier in the search head outside edge of the signal can be heard approaching.

Someone's idea, or a similar experience?

    Thanks,

    Rumcajs

    I've played with those.

Are you Pushing the Red Button when you tune it?

      Yes, and thanks for reply.

The source of problem is an broken cable.
Tuchel plug (slot is down) pin-out from left side to right (maybe relevant info for others):
      1-- red wire,
      2-- brown,

      3-- black - shield

      4-- yellow,
      5-- green.

Between 1-2 pins are no resistance, and between 4-5 pins are 56,6 ohm.
Opening the head, the transmitter coil resistance are 18,8 ohm. The coil house includes an shielded omega coil and an small shielded receiver coil.
The reciever coil dia is only 85mm(!) It is answer, why is modest the search distance.

      Must be changing an cable.

      Good hunting
