  • Help with brutalised detector "enigma"

Hello, I have(had) an old but nice detector, after i gave it to friend it came back like this.
I don`t know where to connect the power suply, the coil(s), etc...

In two words I want to put it back together. Will appriciate any help.
The IC in red is with broken leg

This will be hard to set right without another unit to compare or a diagram. You are very generous to still call this person a "friend."

This looks a lot like an older Fisher.

It's a predecessor of the Blisstool detector.
Rumour has it that the Enigma is a modified version of a 1236.

              Carl,

there is not so specific Fisher transformer in TX stage. so it is not due a fisher clone. at PCB stay three 4046's and I have to say the detector was done by '4046s' lover'. may be done by this Bulgarian man who had emigrated in UK, the author of NEXUS. this is my opinion, may be subjective.

              good luck

                Carl,

this is popular in Poland ALL-1 schematic based on old Fisher design. model 553 or 555 - I do not know what they took. no 4046.

hi all first post ive repaired lots of eastern block radios in my time
and if it helps you out those electronics are very soviet in style
it may be an e block clone but if it is its not the end of the world
while it can look a mess to western eyes it works just as well when set up properly but if it turns out to be eblock tech be wary of capacitors(crap) best to replace
russian sites can help with codes rating and such(if non standard sometimes is)
                    good luck aly
