Today I revisited a small bipolar TX project thats been on the list for a long time,
the progress looks promising, very simple idea for pulse generator, just a 556 .
Have not had time to tweek anything, but it ALMOST works. I plan to try it driving two fets @ 12v,with a 300uH centre tapped coil .
I thought that the purpose (and meaning) of bipolar pulsing was reversing polarity of alternate pulses. What you have is pulsing both positive and negative at the same time (which to me seems like it would produce net zero target illumination).
What you are seeing on the cro is only the 2 output drive pulses from the 556, but I have a diode in the cct, which I now see is unbalancing the timing.
