  • The Goldfinder GF2 king of chinese detectors ?

    http://youtu.be/M5AlwG0H70U

I found the GF2 detector being offered via several more or less dubious chinese exporters for a very decent price. (Google search "GF2 golddetector" will bring many results) As you can see it is from the outside almost identical with the T2 detector except the nametag. The video suggests that the performace is somewhat weaker ( 27 centimeter compared to 33centimeter of the T2 for a 5 Kopec copper? coin) than the original model but still quite good I think for the price.

Has anybody here tested this model? May be some russian friends here can chat a bit with the Ukrainian tester and find out more about the detector.
It looks like the original manufacturer has put some detectors aside who eventually didn't qualified to sell as the original brand to sell it by himself. A model who made it already to the UK has software 6.5.

Is this going to be the king of chinese detectors?

      Bay sales

Was that in the UK? One guy from the UK told me that he bought a GF2 from bay. He tried to sell it for 190GBP reserve but didn't sold it. He wasn't too enthusiastic about it. He kept his ACE350 instead. When I heard that my own inclination to have it dropped.

It seems somebody in China made an exact external copy of the T2. Even the software seems to be the same. He named it goldfinder to find some innocent customers in Sudan I guess.
There the nuggest are big enough to be found with this detector!

          above suspicion

On the first texas Website I read the topbanner:
UNMATCHED PERFORMANCE PROUDLY MADE IN THE USA

Anyway I would be interested to buy a sample for educational purposes.

A Chinese counterfeiter cloned the T2 and for a while was selling it as a T2. Probably still is. Of course not knowing anything about metal detectors (only about copying) there was a lot they didn't know how to get right.

As best I can figure, the GF2 is just a relabelled counterfeit. With the counterfeits most or all are inferior at best and often don't work worth a darn if at all. And there's no support, you got burned and that's the end of it.

The T2 is made in the USA by a real metal detector company and the product has factory support. And, what we're making these days has improvements which of course are not in the counterfeits which as far as we can tell are all the product of a single copying attempt.

If you want to buy a real T2, the method is simple: buy from a known legit dealer. If you want a counterfeit, Alibaba will be happy to take your money.

              china clone

              Dear Dave,
thanks for your input about this issue.
Since the clones are sold as a GF2 model people at least know that they buy a cheap clone rather than the original product.
