Ultrasonic Soldering

Hello All,

On Youtube some examples from Ultrasonic Soldering.... I thought I saw water burning...

As I still have problems soldering alu wire, thought this is the solution ? Has any of you ever used this ultrasonic solder techn. ?

Nows anyone a DIY project to make a small Solderiron as in the pdf ??

Soldering underneath an oxidation shielding grease is another "solution" ... though I personally like crimped contacts between difficult metals. Would those ultrasonic solder tool's transducers be available on ebay sale like components for various other soldering products? Generating high ultrasonic frequency electric power is not a difficult thing.

In past I was trying different approach to solder aluminium wire, even with some ultrasonic surface "keep-clean" help, with very different results.

Now I am staying with Aluminium Solder Paste "Solder-It" purchased over eBay. I use it together with sand paper to not allow sanded wire surface oxidating again.

It was not to much money..so I bought some long ago...seems I was the only one, they still have them.
Think they are for piezo ignition http://www.ceramtec.com/applications.../gas-ignition/

Wanted then to make a receive array from many piezo elements placed in a parabole config, to locate from were a 'return' US signal was comming from..never made it ..
