  • my first oscilloscope what probes

hi all i have been offered a bwd 593d oscilloscope for $40 au its 2 channel 25mhz very basic but in very very clean working condition
and comes with a manual but no probes as the person that owns it is keeping them for his other 25mhz unit
can i use 20mhz probes like the ones on ebay or do the probes need to be higher like 40mhz or do the probes need to be 25mhz
im only after some thing to learn on before i spend money on some thing im yet to learn how to use
i now this mite seem like a very basic question but im still learning about the hole thing really
the oscilloscope is only for basic use at the moment like detector building and teaching my son
    thanx travis

Probes are purchased based on the fastest signal they can show without distortion.
In industry you usually buy 150mhz, 250mhz, 500mhz or 1GHZ probes. They don't usually
buy lower speed ones. Any probe that is faster than your scope would work.

In the above link there is some for $6.90 that do 100mhz those would be fine.

Buy a pair for $14.92 and be all set for a while!
