          When I built this kind of battery holder (fits nicely in detector stem) I figured out that the spring from a similar battery holder didn't work because it was too weak and the voltage occasional broke down for a fraction of a second while using the detector (mass moment of inertia of batteries). The best results I got with a strong spring from a former ' 3*C cell in one row '-battery holder.
