    Looks nice, fancy design.
Should be checked on those tips; are those available, easy obtainable.
Next possible issue may be "digital" nature of temperature controller, i have seen tons of busted in time, especially if chip inside is exotic.
It is always better to look up for some cheaper Weller, or second hand.
Believe me or not; my Weller works nice after 26 years of use. Have changed heater 15 years ago only so far.
Now these days i suspect is time to change it again because it is showing signs of weakness up from recently.
And that was all what i have invested in it during all those years.
But if you are not "heavy welder" and intend to use your soldering iron on occasion; than any other should do, even some from those fancy ones.

Hakko is Hakko and it is made in Japan. I did work with Hakko soldering station at my former job and in my opinion it is superior.

I have 4 Hakko stations in my workshop and won't have anything else now. Also have one of their SMD rework stations. Only issue I have is when the guys leave the temp turned up on really fine tips. Tend to go through a few that way.

              Hi everybody !

Today I ordered the Hakko Digital Soldering Station FX888D & CHP170 bundle, includes FREE CHP170 cutter, advertised on Amazon.com.

I took advantage of the FREE shipping to save $8.48 S&H, which extends delivery time , but hey at age 73 I'm not in a big hurry where money is concerned. Estimated delivery is Sept. 4 - 8, 2014.
