ID:	370102 I wanted to test all the coils I have laying around so I thought I would put this rig together with spare parts I had on hand. It is a 12v power supply, a 500 ohm damping resistor, and a 10 ohm series resistor,I found a connector that a t0220 transistor would plug into so I could swap switches and compare. pardon the scribbles on the plywood I tried several different configurations. Im pulsing the switch with a function generator.I would like to get some multi tap switches and build a couple resistor decades,or substitutions to vary the resistances.I just dont trust a pot for the amps that are flowing in this circuit. One problem I found with this is the power supply is not isolated,so the scope probe ground doent want to connect to +12volt dc,so all measurements are taken from ground. Thats a problem when you want to zoom in on your waveform dc coupled. So maybe a battery pack is in order.
