    I like this meter from Knight Electronics. It measures inductance and capacitance to smaller values (0 to 200 picofarad, 0 to 200 microHenry) than most reasonably priced meters and good resistor range. Good frequency measurement range to 15Mhz. Does not have transistor checker (even though advertisement says hFE measurement -- does not seem to exist) or ammeter and only one voltage range, but worth it for capacitors and coils. I trust the company more than some of the importers of cheap meters.

      That is a neat kit - I would add some kind of inductance meter for MD work though.
