    Hi,

If I put two copper rods(24 inches) in the ground and then put jump cable on a 12v car battery and connect + and _ on each copper rods, how it-is possible to find a silver coin or a non ferrous coin at 15 inches with a standard metal detector? Anabody ever try that or something similar?

      Hi,

First, sorry for my inglish...it's not my first language! No, I didn't try this method but I see something advertised on the net. I'm a serious coinhunter looking around for someting different.

        Hello:
Not, the 12 volts energy, not work, you need use a alternate current.
I bulid a inverter, run with 12v, but out is 24vac, I not try with 127v and I put 6 electrode in one side and other 6 in the other side. In my country people call this a "tendido" this current "find" lost metals in the ground.

        Hola:

Compas built a machine called a depth doubler it basicly puts an electrical charge into a specific chosen area, they say this is similiar to hunting an area after a lightning storm, the ground is a lot more sensitive to the signals from a metal detector. Cost was around $350.00 10 years ago.
