When experimenting, dangling wires are a real pain because they break at PCB -- especially when you just drove miles into the mountains....

So this is my poor-man's "strain relief" (non-prescription) to protect the coil cable (see photos). Should also think of something for pots, switches, and audio too if possible.

Of course, an enclosure (box) would be best if allows easy access for experiments. I haven't found an enclosure that neatly holds my 11.4 x 16 cm PCB board and allows easy access to both sides of board, expecially without pulling on wires to get to it.

Ivconic has slickest enclosures that pull out with both sides of board visible with no strain on wires. (I'm not sure if best for keeping out dust though.) But never see anything like it around, especially in different sizes.

Anyway, just trying to stay a step ahead of Murphy, as if...

    Yes, I'll straighten those capacitors....

You could also try a blob of hot glue.

Yes, forgot about hot glue, good thought.

It's a handy tip from the LRL guys.
A positive side effect is an increase in detection distance, especially when using an electronic circuit that appears to do nothing.

Not the only substance they use I suspect...

          (no disrespect intended!)
