  • Scope image animations

I have a lecroy scope that I can use their software app to get scope shots on my pc. I need to create short animations of these shots like I have seen done in this site. What is the best way to do this? I also have an touch and flip camera I could make short videos with... Initially I have to put the end result in a PowerPoint presentation.

windows XP has a app. called movie maker that you could load different image files on a time line and add audio clips also. just look in the program files folder for movie maker.

I have no Idea what a "touch and flip camera" is, but you can play most videos in Powerpoint. Any webcam will do.
Making a video from many still images is no fun.

It is quite easy to make an animated gif using GIMP. Simply add each image on a new layer and save it as a gif file. During the save process you can select whether you want to merge the layers or save it as an animation.

Touch is the Apple Touch (or iTouch). The latest version has front and back facing cameras. They are pretty good but you have no exposure control. I made a 12" deep light box for it and the scope. It will work ok I guess.

The Flip is a dedicated SDcard video cam. Mine is actually a Creative version of the same thing. The Touch has more contrast and it is easier to process the images as you just email them to yourself.
