search coil vacuum forming from scratch (vacuum forming plastic=empty 20 liters oil plastic container and a old CB Radio microphone connector for interchangeable search coil)

Hi ikumi5,
I think you're using too much metal near the coil (steel nut and bolt, too close aluminium rod and even connector have too much metal on it) and I think that you should to consider this a little more.

fine tuning knob will do the calibration (Discriminating the permanent metal near the search coil)

Wouldnt get away with that with a IB coil because you automaticaly would alter the inductance of at least one coil, hence balance ballsd up.
However, once made a badly nulled coil into quite a go getter by adding a 3/8th steel bolt at 45 degree angle ofF the RX coil, so it not all doom and glume, learned that Idea from a old timer, everyday is a school day.
