Fisher SKD-1 Gold Bug??? HELP!

I acquired a Fisher SKD-1 Gold Bug from an estate recently. Does anyone know exactly what it is? It's red, round and has two handles on the disc. It has a cord with some sort of attachment that reminds me of the part of a stethescope the Doc puts on you to listen to your heart - but larger. It even has a stem for air sticking out of it.... Any info would be most appreciated.
