  • LITZ-WIRE,can some-one help please

HI I am a Newbie member [joined a few days ago ] I am 74/y/old & want to build the TGSL kit ..
MY question is what size litz-wire would you recomend to build DD coils??????????..

Do you feel LITZ wire a better option than Enameled copper wire ..

I have found many sizes of litz-wire on ebay sites USA .. but which size ?????..

    ANY help would be appreciated..

I have been reading The TGSL threads by Carl & friends very interesting ..

For TGSL Litz wire isn't going to give an advantage. Just use ordinary magnet wire.

I believe Litz might be useful for PI detectors as the LCR values limit the initial receive time.

You'll find the oscillators on most VLF detectors do not like the super low resistances obtainable
      with the Litz....

The TGSL is a great project! Order plenty of wire though as you'll find yourself winding a few coils to get it right.
I got 1600' off Ebay for $12. There's not many kits/boards available here either. I had to order my TGSL from the
UK! There's lots of info here so dig in and ask questions if you need help.
