It is interesting report of experiments with different types of coils and materials. It shows the difference that Litz wire makes to Q.

HF is slightly different in a sense that skin effect spoils the coil Q, and the skin depth is very small. We have troubles with eddy currents in a cross section of a wire, and not that much with skin effect. While troubles are completely different, Litz helps in both cases. However, don't expect to get a better Q just because you use a Litz.

Thank you for that explanation. This subiect is new to me and I learn a lot from this forum.
BTW: I like metodic quantitive aproach in this article. May be there is some comparison of similar coils made of Litz an different types of wire and different types of coils?
