  • best coil for a 1266

Guessing the last coil made for this coil was the best 10.5" spider concentric.

Anyone got the parameters capacitors and resistors used and how the shield is connected.

Is the coil information here a genuine Fisher coil?

the info is not directly 1266... have to remove those files from a folder related to fisher... 1266 is '1200 series coil'....

          Yes, coil is from White's.
All the confusion started long time ago when Jackdetect traced White's Classic III copy, made from another diyer.
It was made on custom pcb, not recognizable easy. But it was adapted to work nice with Fisher 28cm coil.
So that particular setup, with Fisher coil, confused Jackdetect and he thought that it was actually a Fisher detector.
At the time it was hard to recognize and be sure, we hadn't so much infos and schematics as we have today.
Later on Jackdetect simply didn't corrected that hand draw he made and it was left the way it was primarily done.
So it is actually a White's coil described there.
          Confusing story!

            Fisher 1266
            Rx 10-10,4mH / 38,2-39,3 Ohm
            Tx 2,14-2,2mH / 4,7-4,9 Ohm

            CZ6 10" 2.44mH 4.80 --- --- 10.97mH 39.1

so TX has to be 2,2-2,4mH, RX has to be 10-11mH. TX side has nothing. grasp too there are capacitor and resistor 20-24Ohm on RX side...

              an 8-inch coil inductance Fisher 1266 TX - 2,46 mH (. Reactive resistance = 75 ohm, active 4 th), 81 turn 0.47 -0.51 wire diameter.
              capacitor in contour means 440nF.

My faulty eBay 1265X control box has arrived. Board part number is the same as 1266X I have seen posted so should be able to convert to 1266 specification.

Board doesn't look bad no spillage or burnt components.

Front panel connector was not seated correctly. Re-seated

Tried some power. Signs of life. Battery test works. Chirps away but shuts up if I short across the RX pins

Onto building a coil next week.

See if I got this right for one of these

                      TX 2.2 millihenry 4.9 ohms
                      RX 10.4 millihenry 39.3 ohms

No capacitors or resistors in the coil ?
How is the shield connected ?

                            Yes please.

Not picked my faulty unit again. Xmas got in the way. Always nice to have at least one bit known to be working.

I can transfer via PayPal if you PM your details and amount.

                            what a great offer. Thanks
