  • New hobby pi detector Coil

    Hello,

Last week i bought this detector:
    http://newhobby.eu/PI-metal-detector-NH-126

It comes with a 20cm coil for small objects, i like to build a 70cm round coil does someone knows which kind of wire thikness i need and how manny turns?

Sadly the seller does not reply on this question.

    Best regards
    Stefan

Given the lack of technical information on their website, it is not possible to determine the coil inductance and resistance required for this project.
You will need to measure the inductance and resistance first, and then use the coil calculator -> Coil Calculator

      The standaard coil is 20cm 23 turns 0.6mm wire= 0.3mH

As i can see in the schematic i think r1 or r2 (390) is the resistor for the coil.

LOL My ears being half shot I would have to do SOMETHING with the Audio. That's EVIL .

lack of technical information. this is Clone, this is Koschej 5I (5I with LEDs, 5IM with LCD), nothing new. there are always good guys who do a clone from a clone.

R1 is the damping resistor, so that will most likely need adjustment for the new coil.
For the 70cm diameter coil, the coil calculator gives the following for 0.66mm wire:
            10 turns = 265uH
            11 turns = 318uH
            12 turns = 376uH
Personally, I would choose either 11 or 12 turns.

Great! Thanks i will try to build one tomorrow.

Yesterday i made a coil. 68cm with 16 turns of 0.50mm wire it works perfect, it ignored objects smaller than 5cm.

It takes a British WW2 helmet at 170cm in the ground.

                  Thanks so far.

                      Pots control?
As far as I can see here, there are no potentiometers - http://newhobby.eu/PI-metal-detector-NH-126
This is very much like the Russian detector Clone Pi W. Instead of a IC TL074, 2xTL072 is placed.

                      S1 "Barrier-"/"Guard interval-"
                      S2 "Barrier+"/"Guard interval+"
                      S3 "Volume-"/"Up min-"
                      S4 "Volume+"/"Up min+"
                      S5 NC

                      S6 "Zero" (0)
                      S5 + S6 Set up

                      Read here in russian: http://fandy.hut2.ru/ClonePI_W.htm

guard interval is SAMPLE DELAY. russian guys use self-made terminology how they want.

You might be right, however i feel they just use bad translation software(same like certain chinese online trade sites ;-). Thanks for the links you post as well. The Кашчей cost much more in E-bay.
May i ask you whether there is a calculator for the basket type UTP coil as i would like to build bigger one? Russian language is not a problem for me. Thanks.

all calculators are in my disc in folder #coil_calculator_soft. all were checked by me and all are working.
but i do not know one for basket type. you have to wind more and measure L to value you want.

                              run on this link http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...baracuda/page2
