thanks for that dave, you may find wax paper at florists shops, the plain brown kind. -
Many thanks to you both for this information. I had pigeon holed my proven 2 stage amp project for the CHANCE PI because of difficulty in getting the direct transfer PCB method to work well enough. I will now pursue it further with these tips.

I have also used the old type fax machine paper with quite good results Its the type that came in a roll
The freezer application makes the compound more solid and sticks better.
