  • Help needed, trying to wire headphones with a tone control

    Hi Guys

I am trying to make a set of detecting headphones for a c-scope PI that i own.
I dont get on with the tone it make,
My brain switches of my ears after an hour or two.

    No cheap jokes plz lol

It only happens to me with my C_cope so there.

    anyways
I know Sony used to make a set of headphones with a tone control

Hopefully Ill be able to post the photo of some

Sony dynamic headphones are what they were once called.

Would anybody be able to help me with the wiring ???

The sony headphones have two volume and two tone pots, a set for each ear

If possible, I would rather one volume, and one tone control.

A wiring diagram would be fab.

    many thanks

Because you only need a mono signal, I would wire the two speakers together, either parralel or seriel. (Depend impedans)
Doing that you can adjust the Volume and tone from one set of pot.
You need to open up both side and in one side disconnect the board / Volume / tone, but use same wire direct to the speaker.
at the other side find this wire and connect it to speaker no.1 (like said either parralel or seriel)
hopes this help you. Otherwise take some pictures when you had open up so we can see the wireing and board.

      Hi Henrikras and others

I am trying to make some new headphones from srcatch.

I am NOT trying to adapt any.

The sony headphones I posted a picture of, was mearly to illastastrate that it can be done.

If you or any one have a wiring diagram of some headphone with a tone control, I surly would like to see it.

I have had no luck with a internet search.

      many thanks

Look at this unit.... It could be a solution that you can built in your Headphones.. Only need a volume pot, and that should be easy.

          Here's a circuit you could use. The problem is a passive circuit will cut your volumne a bit;
