PCB Freeware or shareware
My Sprint works Fine with Windows XP Home edition, But it must be on Windows with 32 bit not 64 bit version of windows or you will have problems. I am looking to see what version of sprint I have , either 4.0 or 5.0 0r both???? Take care , Eugene [email protected]

I make Installation of files linked in post #14, and sequence described in post #22. Sprint Layout 5.0 work fine, with two scroll bars on Fujitsu Siemens xi2428, even if OS is Windows Vista Home Premium. Maybe is needed to try with different installation files?

KiCAD it is realy Free (GNU) alternative to proffesional commercial CAD software
Why to use commercial if open source available?
KiCAD was initially developed by French man, who was learning C++ language. Finally he got real Electronics design CAD which is capable to generate GERBER files to order factory made PCB. And made it OPEN SOURCE project. PCB auto router is included too!
Win32 and Linux versions Available!

PCB editor:

docs?
I will look at the KiCAD website, but before I do I would like to say this, just in case there is somebody who has a ready answer:
A number of years ago I downloaded and installed KiCAD. When I attempted to use it, I was completely baffled by the user interface, and what seemed to be a complete lack of (English language?) documentation.
I could get it to do absolutely nothing, but that was probably my own shortcoming. I wanted to not waste any time, and got rid of it.
Certainly it must have evolved since then, but is there a tutorial or a user guide available so that somebody who has never used it can get started -quickly?

Sure at the time KiCAD has multi lingual user interface translations is good enough at least Russian and English (11 languages). Tutorials in PDF for about 6 languages, inside of KiCAD package. Help is good enough. Before, for more than 10 years I was usind PCAD. And first time time it was not easy to accept, another design ideology, short cuts e.t.c. But now I started really to like KiCAD. And swithed my home projects to KiCAD, if I'll be fully satisfied then probably I'll use it at my company projects too.
Most important to study keyboard SHORTCUTS (info available in HELP files). Then repeat everything step by step following tutorial - and if you will have questions. Let's talk about it.
