Ok..i am pretty "sharp" these days to continue with this one.
Nakky did splendid pcb for it.
Yet i draw another one to suit enclosures i do have right now.
Making is in progress. I will report results when, once finished.

Oh! One more thing:
Finally i changed RX front end; LM301 instead 5534...
Dont ask why!
This way is better, trust me!

And audio is changed also; to ensure enough space on pcb, i put only MPSA transistor...

First mistake; pin 12. on 4060 must be connected to gnd, otherwise will not start oscillating.
I connected it with wire and 4060 is working just fine.
Next thing; 2N2907 is blocked!? Must change something there....working in progress..
Seems that rest of schematic is working just fine, i tested all the points and those are as expected...

remove the zener diode from Q1 (base +8V), then oscilator work.

How stupid was I???
I tested it earlier without coil!?!? Ha,ha!
Hour ago i tested it with coil and it is working! Huraaa!
All voltages are good.
Detection for 1e coin is approx. 30cm in the air.
But...after 30 minutes of experimenting,measuring,twisting trimmers i still can not gain what i wanted from a start - no discrimination and no 2 tones!?
Something is mismacthed here huge!
What is good here is extraordinary audio! So pleasant and loud tone! I am thrilled with it.
When detection occurs tone changes a bit from "beep" to "bleeeeep".
No discrimination, same behaviour at iron and coin.
So soon to make any conlcusions but i am sure i mismatched something in schematic...but what?
I will work more on this...

Oh yes...i am in troubles to distinguish proper Ctx and Crx...
For Crx i took 15nF....Ctx bugs me a lot. So far best results i gained with 100nF...!?!?!

Ivconic, I dont think the design will work at all Sorry..Well not as it is, Here's what I think is wrong.....

Look at the Whites Classic 3, it has THREE channels. You have two. What you have done is a discriminate with no reference point against which to discriminate.

You have wire OR'ed the outout from the final stages of the filter system, but you need to OR these further with another Ground referenced channel as per the Classic 3.

I may be wrong, but that is what I suspect is causing your problem.
