SONAR EQUIPMENT
We have for sale, two sets of Mesotech Side-Scan Sonar equipment. This is substantial, industrial grade equipment built to military specifications. The equipment was purchased from the Canadian Navy and believed to be in operational condition but has not been tested. Therefore it can only be offered as-is, where-is. An overview of the items included are shown below and additional photos and documentation (PDF files) pertaining to the sonar equipment can be seen online at: http://www.fusionsandbox.com/sonar.
We believe that there is adequate information for an interested purchaser to make an informed decision regarding the equipment being offered.
Unit 1 consists of:
- Mesotech 972 Processor in a ruggedized “Zero” case
- Digital Recorder and Winch control interface in a separate “Zero” case
- Tow Fish (side scan and sub-bottom) designed to be neutrally buoyant, in a large Hardigg case.
Unit 2 consists of:
- Mesotech 972 Processor in a gasketed metal case with shock mounts
- Tow Fish (side scan and sub-bottom) designed to be neutrally buoyant, also in a metal, gasketed container.
The information we have obtained suggests that the Unit 1 equipment was refitted in 1999 at which time the Sony Digital Recording system was added.
We prefer to sell both sets of equipment together recognizing that it may be difficult to obtain spare parts for this equipment. There is a binder which outlines the original equipment sources/suppliers and key schematics for the electronic components. However, we will entertain offers for specific pieces if there is no interest in the full package.
SHIPPING:
These items are large and will need to be shipped via surface trucking. Hence, we will only be able to provide a shipping estimate once the destination is known. Arrangements can also be made for pickup in Nova Scotia if desired.

One final note: We are only permitted to ship this equipment within the United States and Canada.
