I was rethinking the failure we all experienced with Mr. Kraus's detector and a thought came to me. I wonder if in his article he forgot to mention that the coil was supposed to be resonated? It seems to me that might work as it would be more along the lines of the classic BFO detector except that the LC tank would ring from the VFO square wave and be very sensitive to metal brought near it by the phase changes that would cause. Any thoughts on this?
