none of the above projects are beginner friendly, start with the surf pi, or mini pulse plus.
its not about the detector alone, you have to consider building coils, the isgl/tsgl has the coil that is the hardest to build, so has smw.
stick to pi.
It will all depend on what your electronics experience is. The Mini Pulse Plus has probably the best documentation for a beginner. After that perhaps move on to something a little more challenging.
Thank You all for the fast answers. Mini Pulse Plus will be. I've read through the forum and i've found a great community.
I hope i'll stept up to the challenge and even contribute in the future.
Sinclairuser is spot on about building the coil yourself for the tgsl - its very hard. If you can get an original Tesoro 5 pin coil or detech 13"dd ultimate coil (for Tesoro umax models) will work perfectly with silverdogs tgsl or igsl kits. Lots of documentation and diagrams posted by members to help your build. Later on you can build a VDI unit which works well.

wind up 60 circle in tx and rx coil in diameter 24cm
when the these circles stretch we obtain coil dd diameter 32cm change receiver put it from tesoro lobo you will have stable detectors with good performances .
