  • MPX digital metal detector

    Greetings everyone:
I'm a newbie to MD, and also wanted to say unbelievable forum! And a thank you to Carl for access.

As the title suggests I purchased a MPX digital kellco, and am haveing an awful time with this MD, called tech support, and really not much help,
I have a 2 gold rings, for testing and the thing barely reads the rings as gold, I did find a older screw top bottle cap in the yard at abut 12 " deep,
good depth but very erratic, Did all kinds of tests using the sensitivity adjustment as well. Kind of confused.
Perhaps someone here has some good knowledge on this MD. Please let me know or direct me to a good link.

Another item, I just bought a Titan 9000 pro, awaiting delivery. And if someone has any tutorial guides for that MD, would be greatly appreciated,

    Thanks all!
have a happy and safe Holiday!

Unfortunately the MPX is a poor quality China-made detector. Probably not much to help you with there. I think the Titan is a version of the Bounty Hunter Time Ranger which is a good design. I used to have a Time Ranger and was fairly impressed with it.

cobra beach magnet is a copy of fisher 1266 or 1280 schematically. good device but very poor pots leaking water killing all comfort to hunt.

PS. i see you try advert chinese... LOL!

KT is right, the Cobra is a leak magnet, I worked on one a long time ago. I wouldn't take it in the water. In general, I recommend avoiding those Kellyco specials like MPX and Cobra, they're pretty junky detectors.

On the Titan, just look around for info on the Time Ranger, which has been around forever.

Finally they put screws visible over the sticker, so it would be easy to open it and maintain it if needed.
              Good decision!
Had enough troubles with F2,F4 and lookalikes with "hidden" screws behind the sticker!
              Titan 9000 looks promising!

                  Great info.Thanks

                  Lucky I didn’t buy one.

Kellyco was offering the MPX on special for $50.US

I would buy it if they didn’t want $389.76 US for shipping the Melbourne Australia

Well they just sold out of everything, have one and may sell it, check what shipping is from here to there, and see if you can purchase the shipping from there, send a pre-paid label email, may be cheaper, an idea to kick around, but not sure if I want to sell it yet,
                        thanks

                          On the MPX,
was using regular batteries and not alkaline, so the test is really erroneous, will retest as soon as
I get proper batteries, talked to someone at another forum he had the exact problem with cheap $ store batteries and was fine after installing alkalines?
