If anyone is looking to build a detector and wants a stem, coil and control box with pcb in to play with I have two of these MD 601011 Detectors that are being sold as not working, one comes on and has intermittent signal and the other do's not come on, both have had the wires to the battery box cut but there is plenty of wire to rejoin them.
They are complete detectors with no bits missing and would be great to play with and adapt to your liking.
