  • how to calibrate an old tesoro compadre ??????? HELP !!!!!!

a friend moved the pots inside, how can I reset it to default values?????

one way to get ballpark values is open another compadre and while its powered off test each of the pots and write down the values, then go to the out of whack compadre and while it is turned off change the pots to the values you wrote down.
this is not perfect due to differences in components, and tolerances wont be the same between the two detectors, but it will give you a starting point, the next step is to test the signals or voltages on those pots while powered up preferably with an oscilloscope, but it could be done with a precision multi meter.
you then adjust the signals or voltages to get them as close as possible.
i did this on a cscope that had been "tuned" and i got it back, some of the tesoro nuts might have a setup proceedure, or the correct voltages and wave forms, if not this may help.

Does your compadre look like this?
If yes then adjust your trimmers to same position like in picture. This would get you pretty close.

excellent dbanner, the only problem with that is when you have multi turns, but still good thinking.
never paid much attention to the compadre is it any good? it looks like a straight forward design.

compadre is good, with some mods you can update it into a silver sabre

Hopefully Those aren't multi turn, I don't think. The one at the top is gain trimmer, set for below chatter for silent running. The other remaining two are ground balance and maybe discrim threshold I think from looking at schematic.
