  • Creating New Prototype - Analog System

    Hi Folks,
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this topic, but here goes. I've started a thread on the detectorprospector forum showing my project, and one of the members there pointed me here for more technical type threads, and he was definitely right, I'm enjoying the topics.
So I hope it's okay to post the link to the thread in the other forum, I don't really want to have the same thread in two forums, so if anyone would like to see the design:
    https://www.detectorprospector.com/f...nalog-attempt/
I'm not real up on every type of detector, but I would call this one a CW/VLF, it's a true non motion machine, don't have to swing the machine to detect.
I've gotten my new boards, and starting to get the final mechanical hardware in to start the assembly. The weekends now are wrestling with the circuitry, gonna take some tweaking, and so the fun begins. Hope you guys enjoy it, any feedback is appreciated as well.
    -S

Only feedback you can have by now is that it looks nice and interesting.
But without details (schematic, pcb...) you can't get any more contributing feedback.
So first you'll have to define it; is it commercial or hobby project? (shareable or not)
Any new non motion I/B detector idea is very welcome.
Since we had so far mostly motion type hobby projects here.
    BTW welcome on forum.

Glad you finally managed to make it here, after sorting out the registration issues.

As for the design i like the knob guard and excal looking. I don't like the hinge type display, I prefer a fixed one at an angle just like vallon did.
How do you intend to drive the coil cable? inside the shaft? battery?
Most important is the performance, how does it handle?
        Congrats

          [QUOTE = Sun-Boy; 284982] Merhaba Arkadaşlar,
buranın bu konu i?in doğru yer olup olmadığından emin değilim, ama işte burada. Dedekt?rprospector forumunda projemi g?steren bir başlık başlattım ve oradaki ?yelerden biri beni daha teknik tip konular i?in buraya işaret etti ve kesinlikle haklıydı, konulardan keyif alıyorum.
          ?yleyse umarım diğer forumdaki
başlığa bağlantı g?ndermenin bir sakıncası yoktur , iki forumda aynı başlığa sahip olmak istemiyorum, bu y?zden eğer biri tasarımı g?rmek isterse : https: //www.detectorprospector. com / forums / topic / 14682-new-prototype-detekt?r-benim-ilk-analog-girişimim /
Her detekt?r t?r?nde ger?ek değilim, ama buna CW / VLF derdim, bu ger?ek bir hareket dışı makine, algılamak i?in makineyi sallamanıza gerek yok.
Yeni panolarımı aldım ve montajı başlatmak i?in son mekanik donanımı almaya başladım. Hafta sonları şimdi devre ile g?reşiyor, biraz ince ayar yapacak ve b?ylece eğlence başlıyor. Umarım beğenirsiniz, herhangi bir geri bildirim de takdir edilmektedir.
          -S [/ QUOTE]

          Nice work, congratulations.

Very neat design, I liked it a lot. Super handy controls and a beautiful unit overall. Are you going to offer a production model or is it just for hobby?

Thank you for the welcome, right now i'm still refining the design, the first board in the pictures is working pretty good, the second round of pictures where the parts are has the second board revision, that's the one I'm building now. For now it's a hobby project, if it works really well I may explore doing more with the design. I can't really share the schematics, I'm pretty sure I'm doing something unique that is allowing for really good target ID, although it may have already been done and I just don't know it, . I mostly work on it on the weekends, so the it's a slow process, you know, life gets in the way.

I wasn't to sure about making the display be in a fixed position, so I made it with the hinge to have the option of using it either way. I wanted the design to be really clean, so I'm running the cables down through the shafts, there won't be any exposed cables. The batteries go in the back of detector, they are 8 AA batteries, I wanted to use something that was easy to buy and recharge. And yes, if it doesn't work it's only going to be a pretty carbon fiber housing waiting for good electronics.

Right now it's just hobby, I will need to have people with experience to do some testing for me to determine if it would be worth producing, this machine is all analog, no microcontroller. I have idea's for future systems that will be simpler and I think more sensitive.

In a metal detector, the main thing is technical parameters, and beauty comes last. Can me see the diagram of the device?

Best DIY construction design till yet.

I mean real design not some sort of CAD scratch.

At first sight LEGO simplicity but LEGO ingenuity too.

                              Congratulations!

Wish you full satisfaction with your work and all success.
