  • Question about Pi modification, with Vlf components!

I was analyzing lot of old Pi schematic, and realize that usually had simple (and unstable) integrators without autotune, and very primitive sound indication.
Is it possible, to use more powerful integrators, autotune and indication systems from modern vlf detectors? Maybe two channels to?

    Thanks,

By any chance to you have a schematic for the old Garrett XL-200 and XL-500? I had an XL-200 given to me and I would like to do some experimenting on it but have not been able to find a schematic for it. I called Garrett but they won't sell me one even though it's a discontinued model. Go figure

I have some Garrett schematic !

      Hi Beachcomber
I have a primitive notice about many detectors whose I was repair. But it is useless for any other than me.
But one Garrett schematic is very good drawing. It is 7X, but I am not sure. That schematic is similar to L880 whose I possess (disassembled).
      My Schematic having TR1 on rec. coil, 2N5400 on TX coil, IC1 - 4016, IC2 - LM 358, IC3 – LM 393, IC4 4011, 2 x 2N5484 Fet and IC5 CA3160 for autotune… Vcc1 +36V, Vcc2 +9V, etc. Is it similar?
If you want it, email me, because I will need to scan it first (my scanner is disabled, and I must go somewhere to scan it).
      Salute,
      Jackdetect.

Re: I have some Garrett schematic !

I haven't taken the XL-200 apart yet so I don't know if it uses the parts that you mentioned. I will take it apart and find out. I will let you know. Thanks
