  • experience in GP3500?

Hello Everyone,Had anybody used the GP3500 made by minlab ? how deep does the device detect ? and how about this one ? thanks

That's a good question, but I'm unaware of any industry standard tests. Some people like to use a dime as a test. Some use quarters, etc. Personally I think a round flat piece of lead would make a nice test. Object size, shape, metal type, purity, depth, and ground type make a big difference. I've read a lot of air tests, and that's great, but some detectors are a lot better in bad ground than others. So one machine might be great in an air test, but terrible in a real life ground test.

Also, if you're talking about pushing the limits of the machine then user skill level makes a huge difference. There are professionals that can pick out faint signals amongst the sea of noise a lot better than a beginner.

Here's a GP3500 air test on some coins:

    US 1981 1/4 - 29cm
    US 1996 5c - 24cm
    US 2000 Dime - 21cm

This was using the 11" DD coil. Up to 20% greater depth can be achieved with a monoloop coil.
