  • GP3500 Query

    Hello everybody,

This question is going to be a bit basic to most of you here but i am trying to learn more about the workings of the GP3500 Minelab Detector.
I am new to all this so i am not up with all the tech talk as such so basic answers would be very helpful.

On my GP3500 there is the Socket that the Search Coil cable connects to & it has 5 Pins numbered 1 through 5 in an anticlockwise manner as shown below.

    1 5
    2 4
    3

My question is which of these pins is the transmit voltage pins & which are the signal reciever pins if i have the terminology correct or anything correct.
Also when tested with a multimeter what should the Voltage be at each pin?
Is one pin the Earth--Ground pin or is the Earth the outer Socket itself Earthed onto the main case.

    My other question is:
These detectors are Dual Voltage so do they send say a 6 volt spike with one pulse & then say a 3 volt spike in the next pulse or how exactly does this work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You

The GP series detectors transmit one large and 3 small pulses, the supply to the large pulse is a regulated 5 volts and the supply to the 3 small pulses is
a regulated 15 volts and they call this DUAL VOLTAGE TECHNOLOGY.
