TL9401 Voltage to Frequency chip

Hi guys
I'm a tinkerer with little electronics training...mostly hobbyist kit-building etc. So I could use some help on a chip I want to use for a detector mod.

I am using the TL9401 voltage to frequency converter.

I want its max input to be from 0-2v and output to be 1KHz max range. Also I want to use a 9v battery to supply it.

I wouldn't know where to start with altering the sample schematic or if the desired outcome is possible. I could use some help.

This isn't the only chip I could use...its the one I have. So if something better suited for my needs I will go with it.

Upon further investigation the LM331 would be better suited to my needs. I will work with that chip and post my mod in the proper forum when finished.
