If you read the TGSL experiments posts theres a cap which if altered changes the phase shift, failing that simon will proberly tell you on here sooner or later to tell you which one but personaly id say hes working fine, you need to keep copper as for copper coins and large foil as in small/large silver.
Both of my builds work around the same as yours with ground balance around just past halfway.
I normally run with disc on and disc pot fully anticlockwise so you dont miss the goodies, if your in a real junk site and your fed up with digging junk then take him up about quarter max otherwise you will miss out big time.
Dont know how much experience you have had with detector usage but all my machines are very similar when it comes to digging the crap, its just some machines your digging deeper for it.
    Anyway all the best

      Hi Dave,

Well I have been using detectors for years but the TGSL is the first one without a meter and/or multiple tone ID so it is something new to get used to. Your control settings for ground balance and discrimination are what I am getting, so the design is consistent.

How much discrimination I use depends a lot on if I am just starting or have been swinging and digging for hours. I tend to be a lot more selective when I get tired.

Since it working so well I am inclined to leave well enough alone but at the same time it would be nice to ID zinc pennies

I just started another TGSL build but with a modular approach which will make experimentation a lot easier.

      Thanks for your response.

      Jerry
