  • Cobra Transistor Curve tracer

I picked this device up at Goodwill for $5 last spring, looks unused, power cable still coiled up.....
Is there a practical use for this device when building or repairing detectors?
Cobra Curve Tracer model CT-751. I don't have a manual for it.
Have not hooked it up on my oscilloscope to try it out. It is identical to the one pictured below.

Also picked up today a Heathkit Signal generator, SG-8 from a guy who got it out of a storage auction loaded with wooden vintage stand up tube radios.
The guy who owned the storage unit was a repairman.........for $10 I took it.

Back in the days Transistors were not so cheap and or as Uniform as today.

You could use that to Match a Pair or set the Transistor in the Linear Mode.

Now days there so Uniform in Function, Build and Cheap there's not much need for the device.

Thanks, probably just part with it on ebay then.
Don't need to have it add to the clutter

I see that two of these units sold on ebay during October 2012 for $24 and $19.99, so you could make a small profit.
