    2n4393 in this circuit is a n-channel transistor or npn transistor???

    Hi Jack,

    it is a n-channel J-FET transistor (metal case type). The drain pin is going to the resistor (R24), the source pin to ground (0V). The gate is normally driven with negative voltage (referenced to source pin).

    There is also a plastic type version: PN4393 (but could be different pin-out, check data sheet)

            I use this GM328A meter to test nfets+pfets gives all parameters , very handy.

              yup. good, have to say you the version on smd has small bug but correctiable easely.
              al least i did read feedbacks of russian guys about that.
              try measure a frequency. if you do not see digits that sure the bug is.

                I use one of these already three years with the only issue it begin restarting randomly. Still working though. Will check for the bug if present as so far i never measure frequency with it. Was not aware it can do even;-)
