That waviness looks like it could be power supply ripple.
What frequency is your DC-DC converter running at?? About 100kHz?
To measure converter frequency place the end of the scope probe near (DO NOT CONNECT) the inductor in the converter.

          • Im using 12 18650 batteries at 16.8 volts max charge dont know what freq on the converter i can use them with 11.1 volts without the converter ill try that and see if its right thanks for the advice

I bought the book. Installation will start when pcbs come in a week
I wondered the performance of the circuit

you said you finish the voodoo, then said you field test, then said you start when the pcbs come in,then ask about the performance of the circuit,im confused

you only need 3 18650 batteries to come up with 12.4 volts, i posted a link to you for 3 cell holder for a dollar something and free shipping from ebay
you cant run over id say 14 volts on these or you will damage things, the components arnt made for more. 14 volts is being a safe voltage, always err to safety.

                • Question for you are you using a battery management system with the 3 18650 batteries you are using i didn't realize anything inline would mess with the wave forms

                  • not yet, i only have them setup as 3 batteries, center one is reversed, i am going to when i finish my pack, but im checking around to see if i actually need a BMS or not.
Pics attached below, i made this because i wanted a spring on the ends of neg.
But they do sell a holder from Aliexpress which would work better but i didnt want to wait, so i got 2 of these from ebay and converted them from a 4 cell to 3 cell after i found out from asking questions that 16 volts and over will fry these mds up.
                    And cause problems.

                    • Yeah i knew not to exceed 15 volts thats why i got the converter but i didn't know it or the bms would mess with it ill have to unsolder it and try it and see

not sure what converter your using but any converter, or even a LM319 will use current to step voltage up or down, so your wasting current by trying to regulate it

                        • 3% i know but im also able to use the battery for longer before i have to charge it again its because of the battery shut off voltage but if it messes with it doesn't make difference i haven't tried it yet im about to and see if it makes a difference

does anyone test it in real soil?
                            I worried about you

                              • Well it wasn't the converter causing it did the same thing at 11.6 volts with no converter next ill remove the bms off the battery pack and see if thats causing it wasnt the BMS either causing it the only other thing i can think of is because im using 12 at 16 volts and 9 at 11.1 volts ill remove 6 and only use 3 at 11.1 volts maybe to many amps with 9 batteries
