i have two tdi's and i use different boxes for both...one is a whites's beach hunter ID box...and the other is a ultra box 308....for me the ultra box was better and also its got a better waterproof rating.

its a very good box to use and i found the detector not too heavy and very well balanced...be nice to see a photo of your detector when completed.

I have a dozen of TDI boards coming in soon /I hope/. I'm thinking turn them in a small batch into waterproof TDIs.
Some mods on top of that too / vs regular TDI SL/ - volume control, SAT adjust.
I have a PIC processor that does more work than the regular TDI SL /PWM, auto min delay etc/ but why improve such an old rusty boat ?!

Remember that, any metal detector that has a pic, it's so easy to miss gold.
For everyone is looking for improving metal detector take that your vision. We live all together in big magnet.
It's just my opinion. Thank you for the pictures

I think pic is really good for getting the part count down...but i like using analog components as you can adjust the samples spot on to get that little bit more performance on small gold items.

It is not good at all, it is good only for the beginners, in this situation I agree and also pur analog is not for everyone. Only for those are serious detecting, hopefully to see more analog units.
                              Thank you for reply.

Folks in the TDI (SL) the PIC processor just does the sampling pulses. It does not process the analog signal at all. There should be 0 difference VS analog, only that you can't adjust the sampling times other than the built in unless you remove this built in processor and use your own. But at the same time if you're willing to do that why work with the SL in the first place and not do everything yourself..
