Need help with Arado 120b pcb picture

I am planning to clone this detector for experimental reasons, which apparently was designed/made in the late 70s. On the schematic for the transistors there is the number "169". However, I think this could be a 2N169 but I am not positive as the 2N169 is a germanium 60's vintage transistor which doesn't make sense for a 70's machine.

I would like to get a clear picture of the circuit board. Ivconic posted something in another thread but that was far too dark to see components. Or perhaps someone can take a look at the transistors on the board and see what markings they have. If they are sanded off the color/package of the transistor (and hence why I ask for the photo) could clue me in.

It's probably a BD169 - medium power NPN transistor.

You are most probably correct.
Although I would think that any general purpose NPN will do the job.

You know I was just thinking this, being made in the UK it might have a euro prefix. But they use a 2SC transistor which would be Japanese. Did you see the transistors yourself?

Found it, an made a zip from it, it is in Sprint Layout format.
Succes with it, BUT .... THERE CAN BE ERRORS IN IT.

A Huge thanks to both Apberg and Ivconic for helping me nail down the transistors/coil on this thing. From all that's here clearly a working copy can be made. I probably will send out to have some cheap boards made. But I probably will redo the schematic/board to use different transistors.

BTW Ivconic, does your camera have a flash?

Hi Mesyna - I don't recommend that you build this one. As ApBerg noted, he had trouble with it. And in fact people who bought these units had a hard time using them too. I do not think that they would go as deep as others either. I'm just building to make a working copy before I go and modify it and make comparisons with another detector.

BTW, I'm with Ivconic. I'd like to see you use your passport photo for your avatar instead of the baby doll.
