          What software did you use?
Do you have source files to this project ?

Finderskeepersq, on your machine which develops boards. Do you send the files to my work. They are Sprin Layot 6. All chips are DIP as your device. Resistors which are - carbon or .....?

Looks great, better than those from source. Congratulations.

Can you post view of bottom side too?

Why you decided to mix SM and TH design?

                Thank you WM6
I just try to match the original,

Thats a nice tidy board, i hope it works for you. Make sure you thoroughly check your drawings for errors. Good to see you got bypass caps to i.c's which are not shown on zed's schematic. If anyone is using hole through components, take careful attention of pins on lt1057 - they are not identical to that of a smd package. I drew my boards on autocad and ironed on the artwork. I used 1/2 watt metal film resistors throughout except for a few 1/4 watt carbon film. Use a high capacity battery as the unit draws approx. 600ma. - i decided to used a 12volt sla battery with a regulator set at 6volts.
I thought of making a smd version later on, but I'm quite happy with my creation. I'd rather save my money and get second hand gp/gpx minelab. I have been making electronic gadgets for over a year and this has to be the best project so far.

For draving PCB i used Diptrace, it is god software, no way to make mistake, simply you can compare schematic to PCB and nets too, pretty handy software.
When i start building this machine i will use high quality components, ultra lov noise OP amps, +- 1% resistors etc etc.
When i finis device i will share whole project as i said.
Also i am planing to make another version with MCU (probably PIC) with programed timings etc etc...

                      SD2000 PCB UPDATE

                      Here are my last updates.
Soon whole project will be complited. (with no errors :P )
Afther that i will build SD2000 according to PCB also i will share results and clear PCB files.
Let God bless all good people who helped me!
                      Cheers

Enjoy to look at your work detecto.

Did you found all parts needed for SD2000 pcb in DipTrace parts library or create some parts by yourself or you use compatible shape parts replacement?

Diptrace alredu was have almost all parts, except polarized caps and couple connectors.
It's easy to create any part using pattern editor.
Also i served with couple shapes.
I strongly recommend DipTrace, generaly i am new with DipTrace, but i like it from first use.
It's almost impossible to make error when converting schematic to PCB
Option compare to schematic and check design rules is worth of gold :P
BTW PCB drawed like this have less noise on output than original SD2000
As you can see from PCB i use big continuous GND plane and it is very good for high gain cct.

                            Hi Detecto
                            Lovely job
Where did you get dip trace? will it except other format circuits without having to re draw them?
I like your project, hope it works as good as it looks.
So many projects on here have been dished out prematurely ie, riddled with errors, which is expensive and time consumming, so your doing right by hanging back till you know its 100%.
Many thanks again and well done so far.

You can find DipTrace here===== http://www.diptrace.com/download.php
LoL i should be pay from DipTrace for marketing :P
Generaly i don't want to share project right now because concept may have error.
Building SD2000 is expencive project like Finderskeepers say he spent abouth 470 US dollars, and i don't know what kind of component he used... with my calculations abouth 450~600 USD will be enough for building, I would not like to someone start building SD2000 and on the end if something is not right what? throw money!!
To prevent that i will build one working device and when i assure that everything is OK i will share than.
Schematic is fully correct without discussion!
Here is what you can import and export from and into DipTrace
                              Cheers

One more thing, it's almost impossible to make DIY PCB ( with no error!) 2 layers, thru hole vias, 0.3mm traces, etc etc. Strongly recomand prefabricated PCB. Maby Silverdog can help here :P
With couple mods SD2000 can folov (and overtake) a lot of new Minelab models for surely.
                                Cheers
