help needed with old detector

      i tried that adjusting capacitor and all i got was a very, very tiny amount of extra sensitivity.

      • try changing the 30k for a 10K

        • I wouldn't trust those old electrolyte capacitors anymore, after 40 or so years & unknown storage conditions. They might have gone funny inside.
          Put in new ones if you can. Shouldn't be too much work.

              i have decided to give the detector a knock on the head now.
              i really appreciate all the help that i have been given with trying to sort the machine out. my biggest appreciation goes out to dabanner how has given up so much of his time to help me out. as i have said before. what a great forum this is and what a great bunch of guys this forum has on it.
