Hi, I did only disc test and if iron is disced out at 3 of 10 it looses about 2cm. I had not made soil because since it's finished it rains, but I hope for about 20~25cm with a normal sized coin. Others have made soil depth test maybe they can tell you more. I had an original Blue Max 950 coil for testing and it performed the same as my DD27. Max air depth was 41cm with a Hungarian 200Ft. With LF347 you should get pretty good performance.

black with red! Is your stem made of 2 piece's can you separate them? Thats what I wanted to do but have no idea how to make it. I like the coil thats my favorite of the White's design. You helped me a lot thanks again!
It performs very well, about 42 cm for 1 euro coin.
I had 2 tone board, but not working so good, it's giving iron tone on soil.
Yeah, coil is from XLT, but my second IDX work's better into mineralized brick's with double D coil.
I will post pic when finish.

My IDX setup made in 2012, but the rod I use also for my TGSL and both Krot. With the concentric, I have only 30 cm in air for 1 Euro and with the DD 35 cm. But the concentric I like to hunt on the beach, I never dug deeper than 20 cm for coins and rings. Both coils are made with aluminum foil shield. Next I want to make a concentric coil with graphite shield. Maybe I can get more deep.
What else I can do get more? Any comment would be fine :-)
Maybe CDI know more?
I asked my archaeologist some months before, for permission to dig for relics. In my destrict area here in Germany, I need it to hunt legal, after two workshops in theory and practice some weeks ago, I will do the application to get it.

This will give u more sens. Next, try to match U4 with more gain, the same thing with U3.
About U3 (LF347) i bought 20 of them, and only 2 were realy good, deeper for 15 - 20%.
I deleted R7 and soldered trimer 200R for perfect amplitude.
If u decide to make your own coil, use 330N for TX stage, and 8 - 10 for RX.
Now freq. should be aprox 12 khz.
My coil's are shielded with graphite, i use Graphite 33 in spray, u can buy in Conrad, i found in Austria.
It is aprox 1k per inch.
That's almost all.
Great and realy deep machine in real soil, not only in the air.
Btw, realy nice looking, i like long stem. Look's like factory made.

Many many thanks CDI, I will try soon your advisings. I never thought about to buy more IC's, than I need. But of course, they also will have some tolerances, even in such industrial processes.
Btw, my stick is made from a foto mono pod, with a homemade fiber plastic tube, for the first segment.
Right CDI the link for your coil housing is not working, please do a new upload!
But anyway, vacuum forming is a very great way for diy projects, to get easy a perfect results.

Very nice shape, looks perfect and professionel...cool.
I realy like the surface, what is the secret, to get such surface structure?
What is your plastic sheet thickness?
For cutting thin plastic sheets, I always use a cheap Dremel fake, with thin cutting disc saw like this here.

Here this would be fine
*https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B01N9U...bs+platte+1+mm
I found some years ago with size 450 x 400 x 1mm, but it seems, that now this size is not available. 1 mm plates are very easy to cut with a simple scissors.
Here is a thread about vacuum forming.

I just made wooden mold, my friend made housing using thermoforming method.
Sheet's are 2mm, this is enough for housing, very strong.
About the surface, i think u mean texture? Well, u can buy diferent textures sheet's, i like this.
About that disc, i have one proxxon. Must try.

Hello to all
I built idx pro pcb Silverdog no errors ok.
md it works with self-built coil Eldorado.
8khz frequency sinusoid optimized with trimmer1k (instead of R7) 16vpp.
I believe the wrong phase shift of 20 degrees because in all metal mode does not detect targhet (threshold works).
switching to discriminate mode works fine targhet detects and discriminates iron.
which must be right degrees phase shift tx-rx for IDX?
how many millivolts to pin 6 U1 after nulling coil?
I ask for help
thank you
John
